How to publish Walling Family History?

OK, so the books are broken and are easy to scan. Tried some test pages. But loading them into Google docs may not work. They are the wrong size for webpages, and as published, not sure the pages can be printed into book form (should anyone want a copy or selected chapters). I am scanning each individual page as a JPEG. I could publish as photo albums on Facebook, but then how could someone print them out into books? Back to the drawing board as they say.

  1. Hi WFH! If your scanner will let you scan to PDF, that would be a better way to go. You can scan all the pages to a single file instead of individual jpg pages. Also, the file size will be much smaller; you get better compression without losing a lot of quality with PDF. If you can't scan to one file - or if you need to take breaks (which I'm sure you will!) - you can link the files/pages together with either the full version of Adobe Acrobat ($$$), or a freeware like PDF995 or CutePDF. There are lots of others, too; just Google "free PDF software" and try out the suggestions.

    Hope this helps!

  2. I would be interested in the book. My Walling family is from Michigan, through Samuel Walling (Rhode Island?). My grandmother was Betty Lou Walling.

  3. I would be interested in obtaining the book. My Walling family is from Michigan and ends with Samuel Walling (Rhode Island?) turn of the 19th century. My grandmother was Betty Lou Walling. Please let me know how I may obtain the Walling History in America.
